Cevotec at the Business Day of Innovations

Cevotec presents innovative patch technology as an example of “value creation in the digital age”.

Hidden champions, start-ups and innovation promoters are given an opportunity every year to meet and exchange ideas at Business Day of Innovations in Berlin. In 2017, Peter Altmaier, Günther H. Oettinger and Eugene Kaspersky, founder and CEO of Kaspersky Labs, were among the top-class participants and speakers of the important Industry 4.0 panel. And also Cevotec, the Munich-based startup, specialized in the fully automatic production of complex shaped 3D fiber components, presented itself in the Berlin Congress Center.

“For value creation in the digital age in the composites industry, we have one of the best approaches,” says Thorsten Gröne, Cevotec’s Managing Director. “Accordingly, we presented our technology with great pleasure – and success – at the Business Day of Innovation.”

Hhighlight of the Cevotec presentation was once more the demonstration of the preforming system SAMBA in a virtual reality environment. “With the VR glasses one can see, how SAMBA performs a complex hardware process, which is made possible by our ARTIST STUDIO software,” explains Gröne. “The fully automated manufacture of fiber components by patches is a step ahead of the industrialization of the fiber composite industry. In addition, the resource-efficient process saves a lot of material with, which makes the lightweight construction not only cheaper, but also more tolerant to the environment. And, last but not least, Cevotec is a successful example of start-up and technology development in Germany.”
