ARTIST STUDIO Update Q2/23

Dear friends of Fiber Patch Placement,

We are constantly improving our software to offer you the best user experience and would like to inform you about the latest updates and new features.

Release 23.1.3 – Highlights and key changes:

“Ply book”: First implementation of patch labels in 3D view in Patch Artist
Logging to log files added
Reduction of loading time, responsive loading

SAMBA PV: Machine data with axis angle, sample cell with dual feeding unit system and grippers for SAMBA PV system available
PATCH ARTIST: Improved draping, curve creation (new parallel beta algorithm improvements, in particular overlap optimization; master-only curve creation with multiple sublayers), fixes in move patch
MOTION ARTIST: Fixes for 2D datasets and “recreate” dialog
FE module: Enabled support for Nastran solver format and PCOMP property definitions, improved calculation of fiber orientation

Further improvements: Fixes in gui (patch selection, behavior of “Set position” dialog), automatically clean-up temp folder, avoid re-reading keys.xml config (might lead to major performance improvements), better support for UTF-8 characters in CAD filenames

Important note:

The latest release is able to keep the CAD’s mesh settings while in older versions the CAD might have been remeshed not respecting original settings. However, please check the mesh after loading old files into the latest release 23.1.2, since the mesh might be too detailed.
