Cevotec brings virtual reality to Composite Europe

Munich, 11/11/2016 – Cevotec brings a virtual reality (VR) preview of their new Fiber Patch Placement production system to Composite Europe 2016. The Munich-based company presents their robot-driven system SAMBA in a VR environment and guides interested visitors with special VR glasses through the production system.

Cevotec, the one-stop shop for Fiber Patch Placement technology, presents a preview of their new production system SAMBA at Composites Europe (hall 8B / D21, from 28/11 to 1/12 in Düsseldorf). Working together with the VR experts of eachTick, they imported a digital model of the machine and robots into a virtual reality environment. With special VR glasses, visitors gain a very detailed impression of the production process and the high-tech system.

The patch-experts from Cevotec guide the spectator step-by-step through the technology and thus enable a unique experience of high-tech automation in the composites world. Cevotec develops and sells production systems and software for the automated manufacturing of complex carbon fiber composites. With completely digital production development and additive manufacturing, Cevotec unites industry 4.0 with composites. Core element of the Cevotec technology is the robot-driven production system SAMBA, based on Fiber Patch Placement technology. Thisinnovative process enables an additive and fully automated processing of fiber patches to 3D preforms, allowing for complexities like small radii and curved load-paths.

Currently, the team and founders Felix Michl, Thorsten Groene, and Dr. Neven Majic are in the final stages of technical development. The system SAMBA, together with the matching CAD/CAM software platform ARTIST STUDIO, is launched at JEC W orld Paris in March 2017. Get the exclusive VR preview during Composites Europe at the Cevotec booth in hall 8b, D21.
